About
Most kids who make it to MotoGP started young. Very young.
You've read the interviews. "I was four years old on my first bike." "I grew up racing." But read closely and you'll notice something: nobody tells you how, exactly. What bike. What track. What license. What school. How much it costs. Who to call. Where to even begin.
If you're a parent standing at the start of that road with a kid who can't stop thinking about motorcycles, you already know this feeling. The information doesn't exist or it's scattered across forums, hidden in Facebook groups, locked behind connections you don't have.
speed.habit was built from that frustration.
I'm Simon. I'm a father of two boys, Belgian by origin, based until recently in Taiwan, a place where kids' motorcycle racing essentially doesn't exist. No junior championships. No FIM licenses for minors. Just a passion my boys developed anyway, because some things don't wait for infrastructure.
I grew up with motorcycles. My father handed that obsession to me, the way these things get passed down, not through lessons, but through smell of fuel and the sound of an engine. I raced as a teenager in Madagascar. Later, as an adult in Taiwan. Never professionally. Always passionately.
When my sons caught the same fever, I started doing what any parent does: researching. Looking for schools, tracks, gear sized for small humans, pathways into competitive racing. And I hit the same wall, over and over. The world of junior motorcycle racing is opaque by default. Unless you were born into it, you're navigating blind.
So I started documenting everything. Every bike choice, every piece of gear, every school inquiry, every mistake. Not because I had answers, but because I was collecting them in real time, and I figured someone else was going to need them.
In July 2025, my wife and I made a decision most people thought was extreme: we packed up our life in Taiwan and moved to Europe. South of France. For no reason other than to put our boys in an environment where their dream has room to grow. We know the odds of reaching MotoGP are low. We'll never know if we don't try.
speed.habit is what I wish had existed when I started.
A place where the road to MotoGP is mapped honestly. The costs, the gear, the pathways, the schools, the licenses, the progression. Built for parents who are serious about giving their kids a real shot, without needing to already know someone on the inside.
Here, young riders get their own profiles, a place to be seen, to track their progress, to exist on record. Because the kids who make it to the top didn't appear from nowhere. They had a beginning. And that beginning deserves to be documented.
If your kid has speed in their blood, this is where the habit starts.
